How we work

This is exactly what hiring us looks like.

No mystery onboarding, and no 90-day stretch where you can't see the work. A clear, repeatable system: a controller closes your financial statements by the 10th, a fractional CFO helps you decide what's next, and you get your time back. Read this, and you'll know whether we're right for you before we ever talk.

The engagement

From handoff to hands-off in about 30 days.

No mystery onboarding, and no 90-day stretch where you can't see the work. Here is exactly what happens, in order, and what it feels like once it's running.

OnboardWeek 1–2

We learn your stack, your team, and the workarounds you've been carrying. You hand off logins once, and we map everything else.

CleanupBefore go-live

Backfill, reconcile, recode whatever's behind. You start from clean books, not from the mess you inherited. (Priced separately only when it's a real lift.)

TakeoverDay 1, next month

The books, AP, AR, and payroll become ours, run under a controller. From here, you stop touching QuickBooks and start reading your statements.

Weekly summaryEvery Monday

One short email. Cash position, what moved, what needs you. Reads in 90 seconds. No dashboard archaeology.

Controller closeBy the 10th

GAAP-aligned financial statements (P&L, balance sheet), the KPI dashboard, and a written read on what the numbers mean, closed in time to decide on, not just to file.

Controller + CFO on callOngoing

Same controller running the close, same fractional CFO helping you read it, every month. We operate like your in-house finance team, without the headcount.

Once we're running it

Every week and every month runs like clockwork.

The rhythm never changes. You always know where you stand, without opening QuickBooks once.

Every Monday

The 90-second weekly summary

  • Cash position, called out plainly
  • What moved last week
  • Anything that needs a decision from you
  • Bills due, invoices outstanding

Why operators stay

The whole finance department, for less than one hire.

A CFO's-eye view

Weekly cash summary, monthly financial statements, a live KPI dashboard, and a CFO who tells you what to do next. No black box, no waiting until April.

One dedicated contact

A named point of contact with authority to decide. No ticket queues, no escalation maze, same person every month.

Books + tax, one roof

Federal and state income tax filing handled through our tax partner. No separate CPA shuffle, no year-end scramble.

An AI-powered firm

Modern tooling makes the close faster and more accurate. Every transaction is still reviewed by a real person on our team before it posts.

What's included

Two ways to work with us, both sized to how you run.

We'll recommend the right fit, and the exact scope, on your discovery call.

Full Function

A controller and fractional CFO, bundled.

  • Everything in Foundation, plus:
  • Fractional-CFO advisory: forecasting + 13-week cash
  • Budget vs. actual, scenario modeling, annual budget build
  • Board, fundraising & diligence reporting
  • Daily bookkeeping + full AP (intake, approvals, payments)
  • Full AR with collections and dunning, plus payroll

Month-to-month. You stay because it works.

No 12-month lock-in, no cancellation fee. Thirty days' notice, get your books back, walk away clean. We earn the next month every month.

The real questions

What people actually ask before they sign.

Fair question. Three things actually differentiate us. First, every engagement gets a dedicated point of contact with authority to make decisions. No queues, no escalations. Second, we don't stop at bookkeeping: a controller owns your month-end close and internal controls, and a fractional CFO owns forecasting, cash, and what to do next. Third, we run specialized playbooks for ecommerce, agencies, creators, multi-LLC, and SaaS instead of a generic template.
Accurate books and reconciliations on QBO or Xero at the base. Bill intake, approvals, vendor payments. Customer invoicing, dunning, collections. Payroll oversight via your provider (Gusto, Rippling, ADP). A controller-run month-end close (we target the 10th when your records are complete), P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and KPI commentary. CFO-level forecasting, 13-week cash, and board-ready reporting on top. Income tax filing handled by our tax partner. One engagement, one point of contact.
You're not. Engagements run month-to-month. Give 30 days' notice, get your books back, walk away clean. We earn the next month every month. No cancellation fee, no surprise clawback, no 12-month minimum.
Yes. Federal and state income tax returns are handled through our tax partner, and we coordinate the entire flow so your books feed directly into return prep. One point of contact, no separate handoff. If you already have a tax advisor you love, we're happy to stay upstream and feed them clean, controller-reviewed books instead. Your call during onboarding.
We pair modern tooling with a real controller. Software handles transaction processing, document intake, and deadline tracking; a controller reviews the work before it posts and signs off the close. You get a faster month-end, tighter internal controls, and CFO-level analysis, without carrying a full finance team on payroll.
Our specialty is US and Canadian small businesses, with our team operating in US business hours and full English fluency. We're QuickBooks ProAdvisors, Xero Advisors, and NACPB Certified Bookkeepers. If you're elsewhere, talk to us. There are situations where we're a fit and situations where we'll refer you to someone better.
